FAQ
The breeze will cool the house, right?
Only if the outside air is actually better than the inside air. A breeze can feel cool on your skin, but if it is hotter or muggier outside, it can still warm up the house or bring in humidity.
Why does humidity matter?
Humid air makes rooms feel sticky and can make your air conditioner work harder later. Dry, comfortable outdoor air is usually the best window weather.
What if my house feels stale?
If the answer is not a hard no, crack a window for 10 or 15 minutes. A short refresh can help without letting the whole house drift toward outdoor conditions.
Why enter indoor temperature or humidity?
It helps the answer fit your home. For example, 68°F outside is great if your house is hot, but less helpful if your house is already cold.
